In Abu Dhabi, an official reception was hosted in honor of the 28th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The gala evening was held by the Embassy of Kazakhstan to the United Arab Emirates. Ambassador Madiyar Menilbekov in his speech outlined a number of achievements made during the years of independence. A remarkable improvement in the investment climate in the country was noted in the context of political stability, which allows to successfully implement the reforms started earlier.
Ambassador Madiyar Menilbekov presented to the guests the results of bilateral trade and economic partnership, which is maintained by high-level contacts. In this regard, the Kazakh diplomat noted the great support of the UAE rendered in the first years of Independence. The UAE is the largest partner of Kazakhstan among Arab countries in terms of investments.
Today the amount of investments from the UAE to the Republic of Kazakhstan is worth $2.1 billion, while the turnover of mutual trade for January-September of this year reached $ 423 million. A noticeable impetus to bilateral cooperation was given by the working visit of H.E. Nursultan Nazarbayev, the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Elbasy, who visited the UAE in March of this year, as well as by the visit of H.H. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces to Kazakhstan in 2018.
Next year, the annals of bilateral relations will replenish with important visits and large-scale events. Among them, the official inauguration of the Abu Dhabi Plaza in the capital of Kazakhstan, Nur Sultan, dedicated to the 22nd anniversary of the Capital city. At the same time, the achievements of the EXPO-2017 held in Kazakhstan will be exhibited at EXPO-2020 in Dubai.
The guest of honor from the UAE at the official reception was H.E. Dr. Obaid Al Ketbi, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. The event was also attended by the H.E. Ambassador Askar Mussinov, Assistant Secretary-General for Science and Technology of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and by the high-level UAE officials, Heads of Diplomatic Missions and large companies, and media representatives. A concert program of Kazakh folk songs and dances was arranged for the guests, as well as dishes of national cuisine were prepared.
