Deputy Chairman of the Senate A. Shakirov met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Kazakhstan, Ms. Manal al-Sayed Yahya al-Shinnawi.
The parties discussed the state and prospects of the bilateral relations, including in the context of parliamentary activities within the bilateral cooperation groups in the Parliaments of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the ARE.
A. Shakirov noted that Egypt is a reliable and constructive partner of Kazakhstan on the African continent, the Middle East region and the Arab world in general. From this perspective, references were made to the support of the Kazakhstani international initiatives, in particular the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA), as well as the holding of the Congresses of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions. The importance of cooperation between the two countries in the framework of international organizations, primarily the UN and OIC, was also underscored.
Ambassador al-Shinnawi stressed the need for progressive development, established by the leaders of our countries, of the high-level bilateral cooperation in its various areas. The Egyptian diplomat confirmed further support to promoting the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions as a world-level interreligious dialogue.
The parties expressed their mutual interest in sharing experience, in particular in the development of the tourism sector, as well as in the context of the planned relocation of the Egyptian capital.
In general, the interlocutors favored further strengthening political, economic and cultural and humanitarian ties between the two countries.
