For 10 months of 2021, investments in manufacturing industry of Kazakhstan increased by 78.6% to 1.2 trillion tenge

At the government session chaired by Prime Minister Askar Mamin, issues of the development of the manufacturing industry were considered, Delovoy Kazakhstan reports.

Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development Beibut Atamkulov, Minister of Energy Magzum Mirzagaliyev, Minister of Agriculture Yerbol Karashukeyev, Deputy Chair of the Board of JSC NMH Baiterek Adil Mukhamedzhanov, Akim of Kostanay region Arkhimed Mukhambetov, Atyrau region — Makhambet Dosmukhambetov, Aktobe region — Ondasyn Urazalin, Karaganda region — Zhenis Kassymbek presented their reports at the session.

In accordance with the Address of the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and the program of the Nur Otan party, the Government has been tasked with increasing the production of the manufacturing industry by 1.5 times by 2025.

There is a positive trend in the industry. For 10 months of this year the industry achieved a growth of 5.3%.

Due to the implementation of large projects to expand the capacities of the Zhairemsky and Aktogaysky GOKs, the construction of a gold recovery plant and a ferroalloy plant, machine-building industries, a significant increase in investments in fixed assets was achieved by 78.6% to 1.2 trillion tenge.

The largest growth in production volumes was noted in the pharmaceutical industry by 33.6%, mechanical engineering — by 19.5%, the production of building materials — by 9.3%, the chemical industry — by 6.5%, food production — by 3.6%.

In the petrochemical industry in the current year, plants for the production of industrial gases and octane-enhancing additives were commissioned, and a plant for the production of polypropylene is at the completion stage (93%).

This year, the International Center for the Development of Oil and Gas Engineering was created, which will ensure the localization of the production of goods and expand the capabilities of domestic producers.

In total, in 2021, within the framework of the Industrialization Map, it is planned to commission 139 industrial projects in the food industry, construction industry, mechanical engineering, metallurgy and other industries for a total amount of 1.3 trillion tenge with the creation of 12.7 thousand permanent jobs. Of these, to date, 83 projects have been introduced for 1 trillion tenge. The rest will be introduced in December 2021.

When reaching full capacity, the production volume of these projects will amount to 1.1 trillion tenge, and a third of the products produced (over 350 billion tenge) will be exported.

A special role is assigned to the manufacturing sector within the framework of the national project "Sustainable Economic Growth Aimed at Improving the Welfare of Kazakhstanis".

The Prime Minister instructed until Dec. 10, 2021, to submit to the Government an updated draft of the Concept of industrial and innovative development until 2025, until March 1, 2022 — taking into account the specifics of the regions, to work out a pool of anchor industrial projects for implementation in single-industry towns.

The Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development was instructed to ensure the adoption of the necessary regulatory framework to stimulate the implementation of digital solutions at enterprises by March 1, 2022.
