Senate Speaker Maulen Ashimbayev took part in the new platform - Jana Qazaqstan intellectual space. The main topic for discussion by the experts was "Kazakhstan in the new geopolitical realities: trends, challenges and strategies", Delovoy Kazakhstan reports.
At the opening of the first session of the Platform, Maulen Ashimbayev reminded that today under the initiative of the Head of the State the country is implementing comprehensive reforms, which are working on construction of the new Kazakhstan.
"The result of all the ongoing reforms should be a comprehensive transformation and democratization of the political system. Obviously, the New Kazakhstan agenda is broader than legal modernization and includes many aspects - economic, social, values. At the same time, the New Kazakhstan agenda also has an intellectual dimension. Without quality intellectual support, on the one hand, on the other hand - without the development of the intellectual potential, it will be difficult to realize the objectives of the new stage of development of our country," - said the Speaker of the Senate.
According to him, this provides a wide field of opportunities for experts, analysts, scientists, intellectuals of Kazakhstan.
Maulen Ashimbayev emphasized that within the framework of the new project it is planned to discuss the agenda of the new Kazakhstan and jointly develop initiatives and proposals for strategic directions of the country's development.
Another task of the intellectual space the Speaker of the Senate named the support of a substantive and constructive discourse in our society on topical issues of the ongoing reforms in the country.
During the discussion about the place of Kazakhstan in the new geopolitical realities, Maulen Ashimbayev pointed out that since the beginning of the year our country has faced an internal crisis, connected with the January Events, the answer to which was the agenda of the new Kazakhstan. Along with this, our country has recently felt the serious influence of external factors associated with increasing geopolitical tensions.
Participants discussed the place of Kazakhstan in the international community, the existing challenges and threats, as well as individual aspects of the foreign policy strategy of our country in the current geopolitical environment, and other topics.
In the framework of the project in the coming period it is planned to hold meetings with prominent Kazakhstani and foreign intellectuals, discuss and present books, discuss topical issues of the domestic and international agenda, as well as to prepare a number of analytical studies.
Professor of Kyiv State Taras Shevchenko University, Doctor of Philosophy Andrey Baumeister, Director of Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Erkin Tukumov, Chief research fellow of KazISS under the President of Kazakhstan Murat Laumulin also spoke at the meeting. A number of renowned experts also shared their opinions.
