Summer School is organized by KIMEP Law School, the OSCE Programme Office in Nur-Sultan and US Agency for International Cooperation’s safe Migration in Central Asia implemented by Winrock International. The organizers of the Summer School invite 3rd and 4th year law students from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan to apply, Delovoy Kazakhstan reports.
The purpose of the school is to provide an opportunity for students to gain key knowledge on the practical implementation and operation of human rights and freedoms in a state of emergency, applicable norms and principles of international law from leading experts in this field.
The Summer School will cover the following areas:
- human rights and freedoms in emergency situations, their categorization;
- the concept of restrictions of human rights and freedoms, and its consolidation in the law;
- legal status of the state of emergency, its limits and the rule of law;
- practical mini-projects of the Summer School participants in various areas of the main topic, and group work.
The school will provide following activities:
- of theoretical nature (meaningful presentations/lectures by legal experts and representatives of academia),
- of applied nature (opportunity for student-participants to create and propose their own small projects on human rights in emergency situations).

All accommodation and travel expenses for out-of-town and international students are covered by the organizers. Selected participants will be notified by e-mail no later than July 13, 2022.
