Minister of Justice of Kazakhstan met with the Chief Ombudsman of Turkey

On June 22, 2022, the Minister of Justice K.Mussin met with the Chief Ombudsman of Turkey Şeref Malkoҫ, Delovoy Kazakhstan reports.

The delegation also included Commissioner for Human Rights in the Republic of Kazakhstan A.Azimova, Turkish Ambassador to Kazakhstan Ufuk Ekici and staff of the Office of the Chief Ombudsman of Turkey.

The Minister of Justice informed the guests about the reforms being carried out in the country and spoke about the changes aimed at strengthening the role of the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Republic of Kazakhstan, and also noted the rapid development of this institution.

Şeref Malkoҫ spoke about the work of the Turkish Ombudsman and noted the importance of creating an Association of Ombudsmen and National human rights institutions, which is a platform of cooperation for the Turkic states.

At the meeting, Vice-Minister of Justice A.Akhmetova informed the delegation about the ongoing work in the field of human rights. In continuation of the conversation, Minister K.Mussin spoke about the main changes provided for in the Law “On the procedure for organizing and holding peaceful assemblies in the Republic of Kazakhstan”.

During the meeting, the sides discussed cooperation between the two countries, and also expressed hope for further cooperation in the field of human rights.

The meeting was held in a friendly and warm atmosphere.
