Deputy Prime Minister-Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Mukhtar Tileuberdi and Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kairbek Uskenbayev took part in a Ministerial meeting on Trans–Caspian connectivity, Delovoy Kazakhstan reports.

The foreign ministers and transport ministers of Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey considered a number of issues on developing a set of measures to accelerate the development of international transport routes through the modernization of their functioning conditions and worked out practical steps to strengthen cooperation in the Caspian-Black Sea region.

Minister Tileuberdi outlined the approaches of the Kazakh side to the development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR) and the "Middle Corridor".

"Kazakhstan is committed to constructive interaction and open dialogue for a more complete disclosure of the transit and transport potential of the entire Caspian region" Mukhtar Tileuberdi

Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan Uskenbayev focused the attention of the participants on the need to make concrete decisions on the further development of the Trans-Caspian corridor, along which the load on cargo transportation has increased many times.

"For 10 months of this year, about 1.5 million tons of cargo were transported through the seaports of Aktau and Kuryk by TITR, which is 2 times higher than last year" Kairbek Uskenbayev

The participants noted with satisfaction the unity of approaches to the main directions for the development of transport potential and confirmed their mutual interest in intensifying direct contacts at the government level.

As a result of the event, all parties signed a Roadmap for the simultaneous elimination of bottlenecks and the development of the "Middle Corridor" for 2022-2027, which provides for agreed principles of work, as well as specific projects with precise parameters, deadlines and responsible performers. The implementation of the agreements will allow to increase the capacity along the corridor to 10 million tons per year by 2025.
