The results of work for 2022 and plans for the forthcoming period were discussed at the board meeting of the Ministry of Trade and Integration with participation of heads of central state bodies, deputies of the Majilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, representatives of industry unions, associations and companies, DKNews.kz reports.
The participants of the meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Alikhan Smailov, considered issues of development of internal and external trade, industrial cooperation and logistics, creation of a National Goods Pipeline System, digitalisation and promotion of non-resource exports.
In his speech, the Prime Minister said that this year we need to maintain the positive dynamics of foreign trade and domestic trade, as well as to focus all efforts on the implementation of tasks outlined by the Head of State in the election program, addresses to the people of Kazakhstan and enlarged Government sessions.
Alikhan Smailov paid special attention to work on ensuring stability of prices for socially important food products.
"This issue is of great importance to the people of Kazakhstan and is under the control of the President. Many factors affect price formation, so we need to step up work to identify unproductive intermediary schemes, monitor compliance with the allowable trade markup and respond to facts of unreasonable price increases" Alikhan Smailov
In addition, the Prime Minister stressed the importance of further modernization of trading platforms, introduction of modern formats and construction of new functional vegetable storage facilities.
"We need to strive to improve standards in this area, as this will have a positive effect on containing prices and increasing incomes of bona fide entrepreneurs. We will work on this" Alikhan Smailov
In conclusion the Head of Government said that creation of the National Goods Supply System will allow for more efficient analysis of pricing and balance of goods in the country, which is essential for the rapid regulation of trade processes. According to him, it is also important to automate the processes of all traders and fully integrate the National Goods Pipeline System with the information systems of government agencies and participants in trade activities.
