Akim of the Atyrau region Nurlan Nogayev met Samer Khour - head of the Arab company Consolidated Contractors Company (CCC), a subsidiary of which is Consolidated Contracting Engineering & Procurement S.A.L. Offshore (CСЕР), the akim press service reported.
The reason for the meeting was the incident in the workers' settlement of Tengiz on June 29. As the oblast akim noted, the conflict has been settled , nothing threatens the life and health of the staff of the Tengiz project.
"At the same time, we set a number of tasks for the management of TCO and contracting organizations regarding the improvement of working conditions for personnel, the accrual of equal wages and the increase in Kazakhstani personnel in the management," said Nurlan Nogayev.
In turn, Samer Khoury thanked the mayor for his help in resolving the conflict quickly, assuring that the company would do a lot to prevent such incidents from recurring in the future. According to him, the CCC will take measures to fulfill the tasks set by the akimat.
The conflict between Kazakh and foreign workers of the CCEP contracting organization, which developed into a mass brawl, occurred in Tengiz on June 29 because of a photo that one of the employees (according to the regional akimat, a citizen of Libya) put on his WhatsApp profile. This picture did not like other workers. More than 40 people were injured.
Tengizchevroil denied the cancellation of the contract with CCEP. The company is working on a project for the future expansion of production facilities at the Tengiz field.
