WWII veteran was congratulated by diplomats in Ukraine

Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Ukraine Darkhan Kaletaev congratulated veteran of World War II Amanzholov Nurbay Bazarkulovich on the 75th anniversary of the Victory.

The Kazakhstani diplomat, on behalf of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, handed the honored 97-year-old veteran a Letter of Appreciation and the Barys badge, wishing him to maintain good spirits, health and to have many more years of life.

N. Amanzholov shared with diplomats the memories of his military exploits and interesting episodes from civilian life. Having left for the front at the age of 18 from the Katon-Karagai region of the East Kazakhstan region of Kazakhstan, he liberated Ukraine and Poland, participated in the breakthrough of the Sandomierz bridgehead, forced the Oder and liberated Prague. After the war, he served in the Carpathian Military District and retired with the rank of colonel. He was awarded the Orders "Red Star of the Patriotic War" I degree, "Bohdan Khmelnitsky" I degree and 26 medals.

The veteran emphasized that although he had lived his entire conscious life in Ukraine, he maintains an inextricable connection with his homeland, the Republic of Kazakhstan, and appreciates the care of the country's leadership for veterans and workers of the home front of the Great Patriotic War.
