Kazakhstani citizens can restore a lost or stolen vehicle registration plate by using the service called “Issuance of duplicate vehicle registration plate for vehicles” on e-Gov Portal.
"We made an effort to facilitate the process as much as possible so that when a vehicle registration plate is lost or stolen a citizen might obtain it in Specialized CSC for a plate indicated in an application by submitting it via e-Gov Portal” marked Asset Turyssov, Chairman of the Board, National Information Technologies JSC.
To obtain the service online you need to sign in on egov.kz portal, click “Transport and Communications” → “Motor Transport” tabs, select “ Issuance of duplicate vehicle registration plate for vehicles” from the list of services and click “Order Service Online” button.
On the page that opens, fill in all the mandatory fields, pay for the service, sign an application using digital signature or one-time password. Upon successful processing of application, a notification will be sent by a government agency to a personal account on an application execution as well as output document.
The service is available for individuals and legal entities. The public service fee is 1.4 MCI per a vehicle registration plate and amounts to 2.8 MCI for two vehicle registration plates.
It should be noted that if there are several vehicles, the public service can only be used for one of them. To obtain a duplicate vehicle registration plate for another vehicle, you should submit a new application pursuant to the requirements of the service owner, which is Ministry of Internal Affairs of the RoK.
