On March 7 of this year, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Qatar Arman Isagaliyev met with the head of the Doha International Center for Interreligious Dialogue, Dr. Ibrahim Saleh Al-Naimi, Delovoy Kazakhstan reports.
During the meeting, the Kazakh diplomat handed him an invitation from the Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan M.Ashimbayev to take part in the VII Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, which will be held on September 14-15, 2022 in Nur-Sultan. I.Al-Naimi highly appreciated the level and effectiveness of the interreligious forum held in the capital of Kazakhstan every three years and confirmed his participation in the upcoming Congress, which will be devoted to the role of leaders of world and traditional faiths in the socio-spiritual development of mankind in the post-pandemic period.
The Parties also discussed the current state and prospects for the development of cooperation between the two countries in the religious sphere. In particular, it was proposed to establish close cooperation between the Doha Center and the N.Nazarbayev Center for the Development of interfaith and intercivilizational dialogue. I.Al-Naimi expressed interest in establishing working contacts and signing a cooperation agreement between the two institutions. He promised to send an invitation to the head of the Kazakhstan Center to the upcoming annual conference on interreligious dialogue in May 2022, held under the auspices of the Doha Center, on the margins of which this agreement will be signed.
The International Center for Interreligious Dialogue in Doha (DICID) was opened in the capital of Qatar in May 2007 with the aim of developing mutual understanding between representatives of the three monotheistic religions, expanding cultural ties and peaceful coexistence of people of different faiths.
