Zhanseit Tuimebayev, Chairman of the Board - Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University took part in the conference "Way of the Architect - Dignity of Achievements". The event was dedicated to the 90th anniversary of Shot-Aman Idrisovich Valikhanov, an outstanding architect, public figure, and author of the emblem of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Monument of Independence, Delovoy Kazakhstan reports.
People's poet of Kazakhstan Olzhas Suleimenov, the first cosmonaut of Kazakhstan Tokhtar Aubakirov, President of Eurasian Cultural Foundation Erulan Kanapyanov, doctor of philological sciences Shakir Ibraev, and also famous architects and writers of the country took part in the conference.
During the meeting, there was a presentation of the 7-volume book dedicated to the life and creative activity of Shot-Aman Idrisovich published in "Gibratty gymyr" series. The collection was published with the support of the management of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
The Chairman of the Board - Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Zhanseit Kansseitovich Tuimebayev delivered a congratulatory speech.
"On behalf of the whole staff of Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi and personally on my own behalf, I heartily congratulate you on the 90th anniversary of the outstanding architect. Shot-Aman Valikhanov was and remains one of the greatest songs of the Kazakh people, who made a significant and invaluable contribution to the modern history of modern Kazakhstan. He can be rightly called the greatest architect of our time. He owned such architectural projects as the monuments to Shokan Valikhanov in Almaty, Kenesary Kasimov in Nur-Sultan, Ahmet Baitursynuly in Kostanai, the monument to Shakarim Kudaiberdiev, and the monument to the victims of nuclear tests in Semey, and many others. Shot-Aman Valikhanov has also made a significant contribution to the development of Kazakhstan's literary creativity," said the university rector.
In addition, Zhanseit Tuimebayev awarded the wife of the great figure, Zinaida Karimovna, with the Al-Farabi Gold Medal for her significant contribution to the development of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
Also at the conference, the people's poet and Hero of Labour of Kazakhstan Olzhas Suleimenov spoke about the uniqueness and versatility of Shot-Aman Valikhanov.
"Shot-Aman Idrisovich raised the architecture of Kazakhstan to a high level. The works created by the great personality decorate the entire country today. Shot-Aman Ualikhanov is the author of the construction of a number of sites such as the Independence Monument, the Dynamo Stadium, the Akimat of Almaty, and others. He was talented in many ways. We should be proud of such a unique individual. Our task is to promote the name of a great personality among young people. In this regard, today's conference is of great importance," said Olzhas Suleimenov.
During the event, the first cosmonaut of Kazakhstan Tokhtar Aubakirov shared his memories of the great architect.
"A few days before the flight into space Shot-Aman Idrisovich gave me a drawing, where the shanyrak was depicted as a symbol of the Motherland, and the wings - the symbol of the flight - served as a frame for it. On one wing was written, "Tokhtar", on the other "Talgat". I took the picture Shot-Aman Idrisovich gave me into space. As a result, by the decision of the committee, his work has become a memorable symbol of the space emblem of Kazakhstan. It should be considered the first version of the future emblem of the Republic," Toktar Aubakirov said.
In addition, members of the intelligentsia, honored architects, and public figures talked about the merits and works of Shot-Aman Idrisovich Valikhanov, which kept his unique style and signature.
