On May 20 this year, at Sh. Ualikhanov Military College (Schuchinsk)  of the Kazakhstan Ministry of Defence was held an exhibition, "Warriors of the Great Steppe" dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as the 100th anniversary of Heroes of the Great Patriotic War Talgat Begeldinov, Manshuk Mametova and Khiuaz Dospanova, Delovoy Kazakhstan reports.

The event was organized by the Library of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – Elbasy together with Sh. Ualikhanov Military College of the Kazakhstan Ministry of Defence with the assistance of the Akimat of the Burabay district of the Akmola region.

The exposition features historical and cultural artefacts reflecting the heroic exploits of soldiers of different periods of the history of Kazakhstan, beginning with the batyrs, who defended their land from the enemy raids of the Dzungars, continuing with the heroes of the Great Patriotic War and ending with the everyday life of the Armed Forces of Kazakhstan.

The exhibition's main objective is to preserve the historical memory and pass on its heritage to future generations.

"By its 30th anniversary, our army, as noted by the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, has become an unshakable pillar of our independence and statehood. In the conditions of global cataclysms and geostrategic instability in the world, which we are now observing, its role is multiplied. In this regard, strengthening the defence potential, improving servicemen's combat readiness, and their comprehensive support are the State's most important tasks. At present, on the instructions of the Head of State, a large-scale reform of the Armed Forces of Kazakhstan has been initiated, aimed at its further modernization and rearmament. Holding today's event in the walls of Shokan Ualikhanov Military College of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan has a great educational and patriotic meaning since a significant role in the creation of powerful, modern and professional Armed Forces belongs to the military education system" Bakytzhan Temirbolat, Director of the Library of Elbasy

"I express my gratitude to the management and staff of the Library of the First President of Kazakhstan for the excellent organization of today's informative exhibition.  I am sure that our servicemen were very impressed by what they saw and learned about military exploits and the history of the formation of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yerbol Nurzhanov, Head of  Sh.Ualikhanov Military College of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan
