At the meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council, the prime Ministers of the five EAEU member states approved a program of joint actions of the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union in the field of consumer protection, Delovoy Kazakhstan reports.
The document was prepared by a special working Group established at the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission in the spring of last year, and which included representatives of interested state bodies and public associations of the member States and the Commission.
The document provides for a set of measures aimed at developing and implementing the main directions of a coordinated policy in the field of consumer protection, taking into account the norms of international law, and creating favorable conditions for comprehensive legal protection of consumers, including the resolution of cross-border disputes involving public associations and consumer organizations of the member states.
The objectives of the Program also include joint activities aimed at raising consumer awareness and developing skills for rational and sustainable consumption.
During the meeting, the Action Plan for the implementation of this Program was also approved.
