Kazakhstan opens a National pavilion on the World's largest electronic platform Alibaba

On June 24, 2022, the opening ceremony of the National Pavilion of Kazakhstan was held on the international electronic platform Alibaba.com, Delovoy Kazakhstan reports.

The Vice Minister of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan K. Torebaev, General Director of JSC QazTrade A. Askaruly, Vice President of Alibaba.com Andrew Zheng, attended the opening ceremony of the Pavilion.

Vice-Minister of Trade and Integration Kairat Torebayev noted that today e-commerce is growing dynamically; this is a global trend, which Kazakhstan is successfully trying to match. Thanks to cooperation with Alibaba, many Kazakhstani companies have developed e-commerce channels as a tool for proactive promotion of their products to foreign markets. "The opening of the country pavilion at the Alibaba site is a confirmation of the increased demand of foreign buyers for products from Kazakhstan placed on the platform." – highlighted Kairat Torebayev

As the General Director of JSC QazTrade A. Askaruly noted, "The tool for promoting domestic companies to marketplaces has shown its effectiveness and relevance. Those companies that really gain trading skills on electronic platforms make profitable sales on them."

The Country Pavilion today includes 130 domestic companies with the status of a Gold Supplier, which put up for sale more than 7,500 goods. 

Among the CIS and EAEU countries, the pavilion of Kazakhstan became the second after the Russian Federation on the Alibaba.com platform.

It should be noted that in 2021, between JSC QazTrade, the operator of measures to bring companies to the platform, and the company Alibaba.com was signed a Framework agreement on cooperation and promotion of Kazakhstani goods through the platform to world markets.

Since 2019, 200 companies have already received state support for launching to the platform Alibaba.com.

Overall, at the moment, thanks to the support of the promotion of companies to the Alibaba.com platform, the total sales of companies brought to the platform amount to about $167.7 million. Foreign buyers from countries such as China, Macedonia, the UAE, Oman, the EAEU countries and Central Asia have shown interest in products such as plastic toys, filters, electrical equipment, textile products, oils, grain products, honey and frozen meat.

Alibaba is China's leading e—commerce marketplace with a turnover of 106 billion US dollars (2021) the main activities are trading operations between companies under the B2B scheme and online retail.

Currently, 46 companies have been selected which have been brought to Alibaba.com. Contracts have been concluded with them, registration on the platform has been carried out, and work is underway on the design and filling of content.
