Chinese CRCC is Interested in Investing in the Mining and Metallurgical Complex and Infrastructure Projects in Kazakhstan

China Railway Construction Corporation (CRCC) is ready to expand its activities in Kazakhstan through its subsidiaries - Investment Group (CRCC International Investment Group) and China Civil Engineering and Construction Corporation (CCESS). Representatives of these companies stated this during negotiations with the management of NC "KAZAKH INVEST" JSC, Delovoy Kazakhstan reports.

During the meeting, parties discussed potential opportunities for further investment in Kazakhstan. In particular, they discussed such areas as the agro-industrial sector, the mining and metallurgical complex, renewable energy, real estate, transport and logistics infrastructure facilities.

Deputy Chairman of the Board of “NC “KAZAKH INVEST” JSC Zhandos Temirgali emphasized that at present there is an increased interest of the international investment community in Kazakhstan for the placement of manufacturing enterprises. In addition, he said that due to changes in the international situation, the relevance of diversifying transport routes is increasing for Kazakhstan. In particular, we are talking about the development of modern infrastructure of the Silk Road through the Middle and Southern corridors connecting China and Europe.

“When implementing investment projects in the Republic of Kazakhstan, an extremely important aspect is attention to the social component. First of all, this is the provision of jobs for the citizens of Kazakhstan, namely, high-quality jobs with decent competitive wages that ensure labor safety and continuous professional development. In turn, the Chinese partners announced their readiness to invest more than 100 million US dollars in projects in Kazakhstan, as well as plans to transfer the regional representative office of CRCC International Investment Group from Russia to Kazakhstan.

We have implemented projects such as the Ankara-Istanbul High-Speed ​​Line in Turkey, the Carmel Tunnel in Israel, the San Wai Bridge in Macau, the East-West Highway in Algiers, and the Tanzania-Zambia Railway. In Kazakhstan, we are working on 4 projects as a contracting company, and are ready to implement new projects as investors through our investment division” Fang Lianjun, General Director of the CCESS branch in Central Asia

China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as CCECC), which was originally the Foreign Assistance Department of the Ministry of Railways of the People's Republic of China, was founded in 1979 with the approval of the State Council of the People's Republic of China and became one of the first four foreign economic enterprises entering the international market. In 2003, with the approval of the State Property Control and Management Commission, the company was restructured and merged with China Railway Construction Corporation Limited (CRCC). Today, it is a large state-owned enterprise with top-level qualifications for turnkey railway construction in China.

Current projects in Kazakhstan:

  1. Reconstruction of irrigation canals, drainage systems and construction in the Zhambyl district of the Zhambyl region;
  2. Construction project for the mining and processing complex of the Bogutinskoye tungsten ore deposit in the Almaty region;
  3. Mining operations (Performance of capital mining and construction and installation works on mine facilities) in the Shalkiya deposit of the Kyzylorda region;
  4. Reconstruction of a section of the Kyzylorda-Zhezkazgan.
