The Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Indonesia Daniyar Sarekenov met with the 5th President of Indonesia and incumbent chair of the ruling Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle Megawati Sukarnoputri, Delovoy Kazakhstan reports.
In accordance with the decree of the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, in a solemn atmosphere for her contribution to the development of cooperation and strengthening friendship with Kazakhstan, M. Sukarnoputri was awarded the Jubilee Medal “the 30th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan”.
During the conversation, the Kazakh diplomat also thanked M. Sukarnoputri for supporting Kazakhstan’s initiative – the Call to World Leaders on the Creation of the Global Alliance of Leaders for Nuclear Security and a Nuclear-Weapon-Free World, as well as for joining the Alliance.
D. Sarekenov acquainted the interlocutor with the ongoing work on the expansion and development of Kazakhstani-Indonesian relations, shared his opinion on the prospects for strengthening trade and economic ties between the two countries, and also called on the Indonesian side to use the opportunities of Kazakhstan to promote Indonesian products to new markets.
Megawati Sukarnoputri is a prominent Indonesian politician, daughter of Indonesia’s first president, Sukarno, first female president of Indonesia (2001-2004), 8th vice president of Indonesia (1999-2001), chairman of the steering committee of the National Agency for Research and Innovation, head of the steering committee of the Pancasila Ideological Development Agency.
