FlyArystan, Kazakhstan’s low cost airline, today launched iJan, its newest product innovation, in Almaty airport, Delovoy Kazakhstan reports.
iJan is a passenger interaction terminal that introduces complete self-service to our passenger, removing from them the hassle of queuing to check-in. Long check-in queues, a common sight in all airports, is no longer applicable to FlyArystan passengers. iJan comprises 8 passenger terminals under a branded podium design in the main area of Almaty Airport – it is impossible to miss.
“iJan is an incredible milestone in the digital transformation of aviation in Kazakhstan. We are proud that FlyArystan is the only airline to deliver this type of innovation into the passenger airport experience. With iJan our passengers have greater control over their time in the airport. The move to self-service gives our customers control over their check in process. Our customers can now check-in, weigh and tag their bags, and drop off their luggage while avoiding long check-in queues of other airlines. iJan has been designed to work seamlessly with our mobile App, so customers can choose to either check in on their App or use iJan. Passenges who have used the App to check-in will use iJan to weigh and tag their bag, again removing the need to wait in queues. iJan is a massive departure from the existing airport process and one we know our customers will welcome and enjoy.” Adrian Hamilton-Manns, Managing Director at FlyArystan
“FlyArystan has devoted over 12 months in the development and design of iJan, with the sole approach of simplifying the airport experience. We began with feedback that customers are tired of waiting in queues at airports. With iJan we are able to remove queues, increase our customer support levels and deliver a happy airport experience to our wonderful FlyArystan passengers. While iJan has similar solutions in Europe and other parts of the world this approach is a first for Kazakhstan and we are proud to be the airline that delivers this.” Madina Buzhinova, Director of Sales and Marketing at FlyArystan
iJan has been designed by FlyArystan to meet all customer requirements, including to check-in, weigh baggage, print baggage tags and purchase additional services while avoiding queues at a common check-in point. iJan will be deployed to all airports in Kazakhstan with Almaty being the first airport to launch this service; Astana airport will be the second location when iJan goes live on 1 November. All 13 airports in Kazakhstan will have iJan deployed within the next 4 months. In keeping with the Low-Cost philosophy of user choice, our passengers can either choose to use our FlyArystan App or iJan to check in. From January 2023 use of iJan will be charged while check-in on our App will have no charge.
“Our strategy is to automate as many interactions as we can and to streamline passenger services at the airport, we are actively working to encourage our passengers to use digital solutions. The implementation of iJan digitizes processes and delivers a better user experience while removing areas that our customers have identified as pain points in their airport journey” Adrian Hamilton-Manns
The implementation of iJan service will be done in several stages. At the initial stage, self-check-in will be available on domestic flights, this will be extended to international routes when possible. FlyArystan shall also introduce more user-based options, including seat selection and other services, once the initial lauch phase is complete. iJan will revolutionise the way people use the airport and FlyArystan is proud to introduce this level of innovation to our customers. With iJan and FlyArystan customers can finally say YES! to a hassle-free airport experience.
