Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Ethiopia, Permanent Representative of Kazakhstan to the African Union Barlybay Sadykov took part in a special meeting of the All-African Conference of Churches’ (AACC) Governing Board members with partner organizations in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, Delovoy Kazakhstan reports.
The event was attended by AAСС Secretary General Dr. Fidon Mwombeki, AACC Board members, representatives of the African Union Commission, ambassadors of a number of donor countries, foreign development aid agencies, NGOs, as well as foreign church foundations.
Ambassador B.Sadykov, in his welcoming speech to the participants of the event, acquainted them with the results of the 7th Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, held in Astana on September 14-15 this year, as well as with the provisions of its Declaration, distributed at the 77th session of the UN General Assembly in New York.
He also drew attention to the fact that the promotion of dialogue between religions, the development of a culture of tolerance and mutual respect in the world is one of the cornerstones of Kazakhstan's foreign policy over the past 20 years.
In addition, the participants of the meeting were informed about the launch of a new political system in Kazakhstan, by holding early presidential elections on November 20, this year, which will allow the construction of a fair state in Kazakhstan within the new legislative framework.
The Pan-African Conference of Churches is one of the most authoritative organizations in Africa and makes a significant contribution to the joint solution of common problems of peace, security and development, the maintenance of various forms of intercultural and interreligious dialogue. Its representative offices operate in 43 out of 55 African countries. Its members are more than 200 million Christians on the continent.
During the event, the AACC Secretary General F.Mwombeki thanked the Kazakh side for the good organization and fruitful work within the framework of his participation in the 7th Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions in Astana. In Astana F.Mwombeki represented Africa and made a speech. The head of the largest church organization in Africa also confirmed the solidarity of African churches with the provisions of the final Declaration of the 7th Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions.
