As part of a visit to Sassuolo, Italy’s centre of ceramic industry located in Emilia-Romagna in northern Italy, Ambassador Yerbolat Sembayev visited the headquarters of Confindustria Ceramica, an Italian trade association of industrial ceramic manufacturers, Delovoy Kazakhstan reports.
Ambassador Sembayev had meetings with the General Manager of the association, Armando Cafiero, Vice-President Emilio Mussini, Executive Director of Acimac, National Association of Italian Manufacturers of plant, machinery, equipment Gian Paolo Crasta and President of the association, Paolo Lamberti, President of the Italian Association of Private Building Contractors ANCE Emilia Sandro Grisendi, President of Atlas Concorde Luca Mussini and also with the Mayor of Sassuolo Gianfrancesco Menani.
Yerbolat Sembaev presented the participants of the meetings with the economic potential of Kazakhstan, measures taken to improve the investment attractiveness of our country. He also spoke about opportunities for joint investment projects in areas such as construction, infrastructure, agriculture, science and technology.
The Kazakh diplomat also spoke about special economic zones set up in the country, providing investors with comprehensive support from the government and regions.
Mr. Sembayev noted that Italy was Kazakhstan’s largest trading partner in Europe and the country’s third largest partner after Russia and China. In 30 years, the volume of Italian investment in the economy of Kazakhstan amounted to more than $15 billion. In the first nine months of 2022 total trade between our countries reached $11.9 billion.
In turn, representatives of Confindustria Ceramica expressed interest in developing relations with Kazakhstan and implementing joint projects. Italian businessmen invited Kazakhstan to participate in the exhibition of ceramic products, held annually in September in Bologna.
The Kazakh Ambassador also held meetings with heads of several Italian companies producing ceramic products, construction materials, machinery, equipment etc. and visited several factories. An agreement has been reached to consider the possibility of cooperation on the production of ceramic products in Kazakhstan.
