On March 31, 2023, representatives of the Ministry of Trade took part in consultations at the site of the Eurasian Economic Commission on the introduction of new mechanisms for assessing the impact of the legal framework of the EAEU on doing business, DKNews.kz reports.

As of today, an extensive law enforcement practice has already developed for a significant number of acts adopted by the EAEU bodies. The constantly changing rules of doing business and the desire of countries to simplify the conditions for doing business may be unsuccessful without a proper analysis of the existing RLAs.

In this regard, within the framework of the EAEU, it was decided to introduce a mechanism for assessing the actual impact of acts of the EAEU bodies that affect the conditions of doing business.

The assessment will be carried out every three years and will allow identifying and eliminating redundant provisions that tighten business conditions, as well as leading to unreasonable expenses of entrepreneurs.

In addition, the experts reviewed the legal basis for conducting a regulatory impact assessment procedure in the EAEU with respect to draft international treaties within the EAEU.

This procedure will be a mandatory stage in the preparation of drafts of international treaties within the framework of the EAEU, which may have an impact on the conditions of doing business.

The procedure for implementing these mechanisms has been agreed at the expert level and will be submitted to the EEC Board for consideration in the near future.
