The Library of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan hosted an open republican educational and practical seminar "Theoretical and methodological features of teaching the game bestemshe", DKNews.kz reports.

The main goal of the event is the development of national values through the revival of the ancient Kazakh intellectual game bestemshe.

The seminar was attended by specialists in the field of preschool education, educators, domestic and foreign experts.

In her welcoming speech, Botagoz Kaipova, Deputy Director of the Library of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, noted:

“The upbringing of a strong competitive nation begins from an early age. And in this important matter, the role of preschool organizations cannot be overestimated. The introduction of circles for learning to play in bestemsha in the educational program of kindergartens is the right decision. After all, this is our national treasure, our cultural heritage and value. This game not only develops logical thinking, it helps to preserve our history” Botagoz Kaipova

“The game bestemshe originated from the well-known Kazakh national game togyz qumalak. To date, there are various subspecies of this game, where, for example, asyks or a carpet are used, and not just a board. It contributes to the development of attention, fine motor skills and strategic thinking, the ability to make mathematical calculations” Sabitov Bakdaulet, director of the Center for National and Equestrian Sports of the MCS RK

“The rapid gain of popularity not only in Asian countries, but also in Europe shows how unique and useful the game is, how insightful and intellectually developed our ancestors were. This is undoubtedly a reason for pride and further work to popularize bestemshe at the country level and beyond” Shotaev Maksat, Chief Secretary of the World Federation of Togyzkumalak

“Bestemshe is not just a game, it is a way for children and adults to develop and learn. For the first time this game was presented in the Czech Republic in 2009 and aroused genuine interest. Now we annually hold various olympiads, competitions and championships. For example, in July and October of this year, it is planned to hold an international bestemche tournament in the cities of Pardubicede and Prague” Hana Kotinova, chairman of the Mangala Federation (Czech Republic)

Supporting the previous speaker, Galina Bochkareva, President of the Khamyska Federation (RF), also emphasized that such intellectual board games as Mangala, Togyzkumalak, Altai Shatra, Bestemshe give children the opportunity to join the culture of the peoples of Asia, promote a healthy lifestyle and broaden their horizons.

During the seminar, participants presented their own methodological developments, exchanged experiences, discussed measures to popularize the game among the younger generation, and hold master classes.
