In Cairo, representatives of KAZAKH INVEST National Company and the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Arab Republic of Egypt held a series of negotiations with Egyptian companies, DKNews.kz reports.
During the visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt, Kurmangali Amankosov, a foreign representative of KAZAKH INVEST in Arab states, met with the Director of the Department of GAFI (Agency for Management of Free Economic Zones and Investment) Ahmed Zohair and discussed issues of deepening bilateral cooperation. The meeting presented measures of state support for foreign investors in Kazakhstan, and an agreement was reached to hold events with interested businesses on a regular basis.
In addition, meetings were held with the management of such companies as Orascom, EIPICO, Nasser Trade and Investment Company, BioEnergy and Egyptra and possible projects in the fields of renewable energy sources, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, and waste processing were discussed.
For example, during a meeting with the Director of Project Development at Orascom Construction which has 70 years of experience in the production of traditional and renewable electricity, building materials, processing and managing water resources, Mohamed Ali Yehia discussed the possibility of joint projects in the energy sector, road infrastructure development, and construction of a desalination plant on the territory of Kazakhstan. Currently, the company is interested in building wind power plants in Kazakhstan, with the first goal being the construction of a series of facilities with a capacity of 250-500 MW.
During the meeting with the General Manager of EIPICO сompany, Yosry ElSheih, the implementation of projects to create joint pharmaceutical production was discussed. EIPICO ranks 1st in the Egyptian pharmaceutical product export and produces over 400 types of medicinal drugs.
In addition, Elsewedy Electric Company, the largest producer of electricity, transformers, and cable products in Egypt, expressed interest in implementing joint projects for the construction of wind and solar power plants, as well as the establishment of transformer, cable, and accessory production.
The meetings held contribute to the expansion of cooperation between Kazakhstan and Egypt in various economic sectors and the strengthening of friendly relations between the two states.
