The 12th International Investment Forum AIM Global 2023, themed "Changing Investment Paradigm: Future Investment Opportunities to Promote Sustainable Economic Growth, Diversity, and Prosperity" is taking place in Abu Dhabi. The forum aims to expand the opportunities of the global economy by enhancing the effectiveness of national investment strategies, DKNews.kz reports.
The forum has established itself as a leading investment platform in the Middle East, promoting economic relations between countries. Leaders of government agencies, representatives of multinational companies, and small and medium-sized businesses from over 170 countries attended the event. KAZAKH INVEST was represented by Doskhan Imanbekov, the company's representative in the United Arab Emirates.
During the forum, KAZAKH INVEST's representative and Marat Birimzhan, Director of the Investment Department at the Administration of the Astana International Financial Center, held talks with the management of companies such as Elite Agro, AD Ports, Brookfield Asset Management, Emirates Investment Authority, Elsewedy Electric, and Metito. Possible projects in logistics, engineering, renewable energy, agriculture, and infrastructure were discussed during the meetings.
For instance, during the meeting with Ahmed Al Blushi, Director of International Relations at AD Ports, which owns and manages ten ports and terminals in the UAE, projects on developing international transportation hubs in Kazakhstan and digitization, specifically expanding the container fleet, platforms, and other wagons, creating new warehouses and shipyards, were discussed. Currently, under the signed strategic partnership agreement, a joint venture is planned to be established based on the Astana International Financial Center to provide maritime services for oil and gas projects in the Caspian Sea.
During a meeting with Ahmed Al Marar, Director of Business Development at Elite Agro, issues related to the implementation of projects for creating greenhouse farms to cultivate strawberries, blueberries, and tomatoes were discussed. Elite Agro is one of the leading producers and distributors of fresh vegetables and fruits in the UAE. Agreements were reached to prepare potential investment projects in the field of agriculture and agribusiness for the Emirati company.
At the end of the meeting, representatives from the Kazakh side met with the management of Elsewedy Electric - the largest producer of electricity, transformers, and cable products in Egypt. The company has shown interest in implementing joint projects to build wind and solar power plants, establish production of transformers, cable and wire products, and accessories.
