On May 23, 2023, a meeting with the new Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the United States of America to the Republic of Latvia, Mr. Christopher Robinson, took place at the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Riga, DKNews.kz reports.
The Ambassador of Kazakhstan, Timur Primbetov, congratulated his American colleague on the start of official activity in Latvia and wished him success in work.
During the friendly conversation, the diplomats emphasized the high level and constructive nature of relations between Kazakhstan and the United States across the spectrum of bilateral interaction.
T.Primbetov told the interlocutor about social-economic and political reforms in Kazakhstan, which are carried out under the leadership of the Head of State. Ambassador Robinson, for his part, noted that the USA highly values partnership relations with Kazakhstan and advocates their further development and strengthening, supports the course of reforms of the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, aimed at the comprehensive renewal of the state and society.
In the following conversation, T. Primbetov informed about the interaction of our country with the European Union as part of the implementation of the Agreement on extended partnership and cooperation. In this regard, he noted the recent visit to Brussels of Deputy Prime Minister-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan M.Nurtleu and the 2nd EU-Central Asia Economic Forum in Almaty, which was attended by a representative Latvian delegation headed by the Minister of Transport.
At the end of the meeting, the interlocutors agreed to continue regular contacts along the lines of embassies. T. Primbetov invited the American diplomat to take part in the regional business forum under the auspices of the USAID Program for trade in Central Asia, which is planned to be held in Riga in mid-June of this year for representatives of the transport industry and business circles from the Republic of Kazakhstan, the countries of Central Asia and the Baltic region.
