Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Sweden Olzhas Suleimenov held a meeting with Svante E. Cornell, Director of the Institute for Security and Development Policy (ISDP).
During the meeting, the parties discussed key political and economic trends in both countries and exchanged views on pressing regional and international issues.
The Ambassador noted that Kazakhstan is actively advancing economic diplomacy by strengthening ties with international partners and creating favorable conditions for business and investment. Particular emphasis in this process is placed on attracting advanced technologies and investments, including those from Sweden. In this regard, he highlighted the importance of the analytical research conducted by the Institute, which deepens understanding of the Central Asian region and its opportunities among European partners.
Particular attention was given to Kazakhstan’s growing role as a middle power and its leadership in fostering regional cooperation and multilateral diplomacy.
Svante Cornell noted that countries like Kazakhstan, with their balanced foreign policies and strategic regional positioning within the region, are becoming key players in international processes. He emphasized Kazakhstan’s significant potential to promote stability, peace, and development both within its region and beyond.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides agreed to expand ISDP’s cooperation with Kazakh expert organizations and to organize joint events.
