"Belt and Road" Welcomes the New Year: The Golden Bridge of Kazakhstan-China

On January 9, 2025, a friendly meeting was held in Almaty between the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China and the "Belt and Road" Experts and Scholars Club. The event brought together Chinese Consul General Jiang Wei, consulate diplomats, and prominent Kazakhstani experts, including Club Chairman Sultanov, Hafizova, Amrebaev, and about 30 other participants. In her speech, Jiang Wei emphasized that 2024 was a “fruitful year” for the comprehensive strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and China. On the international stage, Kazakhstan and China maintained close and productive collaboration, contributing to regional stability and global development.

The Role of the Experts Club as a "Grassroots Think Tank"

The "Belt and Road" Experts and Scholars Club played a significant role in fostering bilateral relations over the past year. Acting as a "grassroots think tank," the club organized academic discussions, published research works, and wrote analytical articles, supporting the development of Kazakhstan-China ties. Jiang Wei praised the club’s contributions and expressed hope for further strengthening academic collaboration. She underscored the importance of promoting the shared history of friendship between Kazakhstan and China, which fosters deeper mutual understanding between their peoples.
