In 2024, the Museum of the Presidential Center of the UDP RK was visited by more than 100,000 people, for whom more than 3,800 guided tours were organized in Kazakh, Russian, and English, DKnews.kz reports.
Of these, approximately 3,500 were general tours, attracting a total of 52,000 visitors, while 297 thematic tours focusing on specific aspects of history and culture reached around 4,500 participants. This result was achieved through a systematic approach to operational organization, the introduction of innovative formats, and active engagement with the audience.
The museum attracted not only residents of Kazakhstan but also international guests. Over 8,000 visitors from more than 40 countries worldwide visited the museum last year. The majority of foreign visitors came from Russia, China, Central Asian countries, Poland, Germany, and France. This reflects a growing international interest in the history and culture of Kazakhstan, as well as the successful efforts to promote the museum on the global stage.
An important part of the work in 2024 was the introduction of a sociological survey among visitors, which allowed for the collection of data on preferences, interests, and satisfaction with museum services. The survey revealed that 62.8% of guests were visiting the museum for the first time, and 99.6% expressed satisfaction with the level of service. The majority of respondents preferred group tours with guides (54.5%), underscoring the importance of live interaction with the audience.
A significant portion of the visitors were schoolchildren and young people under 25 years of age (71.7%). This high proportion of youth can be attributed to the fruitful collaboration with educational institutions across the country. The joint efforts included organizing visits for schoolchildren and students from colleges and universities, as well as developing tour schedules that aligned with their academic curricula and holiday periods.
The sociological survey became a valuable tool for analyzing the museum's audience and enhancing the quality of its services. These studies served as the foundation for improving customer service and developing new programs and projects.
One such project was the interactive tour "Nauryz. Tanym. Tarikh," which was launched in anticipation of the Nauryz holiday. The tour was not only a narrative about the traditions of spring renewal but also a unique immersion into the symbolism and philosophy of the celebration through interactive elements. Visitors were given the opportunity to actively participate in the project, making their experience more vibrant and memorable. This format proved to be popular among a wide audience, including young people and families with children, and demonstrated a high potential for further development of interactive programs.
In line with significant historical dates, the museum implemented outreach projects aimed at promoting national traditions and supporting social integration. For instance, last May, in honor of Defender of the Fatherland Day and Victory Day, the museum organized an outreach cultural and educational project, "Loyalty to the traditions of our ancestors," in the village of Taytobe, Akmola region. This project featured thematic tours, presentations, and exhibitions, offering schoolchildren a unique opportunity to learn about the history of the country through the prism of personal feats of national heroes.
Another notable outreach event was the inclusive project "A step towards goodness," organized in October 2024 at the Special Social Services Center "Shapagat" in the village of Akkayin, Tselinograd district. The event included tours of the musical instruments of the world's peoples, fostering cultural exchange, as well as an environmental event as part of the national "Taza Kazakhstan" initiative.
One of the key events of the year was the marathon of thematic and general tours dedicated to the history, culture, and contemporary achievements of Kazakhstan. As part of this project, tours were conducted on topics that reflect significant milestones in Kazakhstan's development, such as "Ulіktau – A Century-Old Tradition Continuity," "The Freedom the Nation Strives For," "Kazakhstan's Climate Agenda," "Kazakhstan's Multi-Vector Diplomacy. History, Personalities, Traditions, and Symbols," "The Triumph of Kazakhstan’s Boxers: From Origins to Modern Times," and "Capitals of the Kazakh State." These events enabled visitors to gain a deeper understanding of the country’s historical heritage, contemporary politics, and cultural richness.
Particular attention in the past year was given to career-oriented tours, launched in the context of the implementation of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev's Address of September 2, 2024, which emphasized the high significance of vocational professions. The new tour program "Technologies in the Museum: An Insider’s Perspective" provided over 340 schoolchildren and students with a unique opportunity to explore in-demand professions related to the museum field, such as multimedia engineers, IT specialists, interactive exhibit designers, and content developers. These tours not only showcased the modern technologies used in the museum but also inspired young people to choose a professional path in the context of the growing importance of technical and engineering specialities.
As part of World Tourism Day, the Presidential Center of the Republic of Kazakhstan successfully organized a fishbowl discussion on "Sustainable Tourism in Kazakhstan," which brought together more than 60 participants, including representatives from government agencies, tourism industry experts, university professors, and public figures, to discuss issues related to environmentally friendly and culturally oriented tourism.
Overall, 2024 was a year of creativity, growth, and significant achievements. The Presidential Center of the Republic of Kazakhstan continues to develop cultural heritage and promote the history of Kazakhstan through modern approaches and formats, thereby establishing itself as a center of knowledge that inspires visitors to make new discoveries and achieve new accomplishments.
