The international trading platform ITS recorded a new daily turnover record of $84 million on 27 January 2025, which is 2.6 times higher than the previous trading day, DKnews.kz reports.

Monday’s surge in trading activity followed a global sell-off of leading technology stocks after the presentation of DeepSeek, an AI project from a Chinese developer that challenged well-known neural networks such as ChatGPT.

“Monday’s sell-off was significant, with a sharp increase in market volatility and trading activity. We are already seeing a market reversal, so it is highly likely that the recent sell-off will be remembered as a short-term event, as it affected a relatively narrow range of stocks and did not spread across the broader market”  Pavel Pakhomov, Director of ITS’s Analytics Department

Among the biggest decliners during Monday’s session were shares of Broadcom (AVGO -17.40%), Nvidia (NVDA -16.97%) and Oracle (ORCL -13.79%).

Trading volume on ITS continues to grow, driven by a rising number of investors and trading instruments. Periods of market volatility also contribute to higher trading volumes on ITS, where investors can respond to global news during the platform’s 17-hour trading session, executing transactions at the best global market prices and in any required volume, supported by best execution principles and smart order routing technology.
