Binali Yildirim delivered a leadership lecture at KazNU, DKnews.kz reports.
The former Prime Minister of Turkey, statesman and political figure Binali Yıldırım visited Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, meeting with the university leadership and delivering a leadership lecture.
Greeting the honorary guest, the Chairman of the Board – Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Zhanseit Tuimebayev, particularly highlighted the numerous achievements of the former Prime Minister of Turkey, holder of the State Medal of Honor of the Republic of Turkey, member of the Council of Elders of the Turkic States Organization, and an outstanding figure who has had a significant impact on politics, economics, and the development of education.
In his welcoming speech, the Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University highlighted the achievements of the research university, which is ranked among the top 200 universities in the world, occupying 163rd place in the QS World University Rankings 2025. KazNU actively develops international cooperation, closely collaborating with 46 universities and organizations in Turkey, including Istanbul University, Akdeniz University, Ankara University of Social Sciences, Istanbul Technical University, and many others.
"We are especially proud of the opening of the KazNU branch in Istanbul during the official visit of the President of Kazakhstan on May 11, 2022, which actively develops higher education programs and promotes the integration of science and education into the international educational space",- emphasized Zhanseit Tuimebayev. "Your contribution, Mr. Yıldırım, to the development of relations between our countries and to strengthening educational and scientific ties is of great significance to us. Your knowledge and experience undoubtedly inspire students and scholars, and serve as an example of service to your people and society"
In his lecture, former Prime Minister of Turkey Binali Yıldırım spoke about the established good-neighborly and friendly relations between Kazakhstan and Turkey in all areas: economy, trade, education, and industry. "We see great potential for the development of trade and economic relations within the framework of the Turkic States Organization. An example of this is the foreign trade relations of Turkic countries. This shows how much economic cooperation can stimulate development", - emphasized Binali Yıldırım. "But the economy is just one part of the picture. To truly strengthen our ties, we need to better understand each other. This means we must develop our shared values, and first and foremost—language, science, and education"
After the lecture, a discussion took place, during which students and active listeners had the opportunity to ask questions and receive answers.
