With the support of the Embassy of Kazakhstan, a festive celebration of Nauryz Meiramy took place at the picturesque Kuchajda Lake in Bratislava. This holiday symbolizes the beginning of the new year and the renewal of spring, DKnews.kz reports.
The event was organized by representatives of the Kazakh diaspora in Slovakia. It brought together not only Kazakh compatriots living in various regions of the country but also numerous guests.
Residents of the Slovak capital had the opportunity to become acquainted with the rich and unique culture of Kazakhstan. A traditional Kazakh yurt – a symbol of nomadic heritage and hospitality – was erected on-site. Visitors were invited to try on national costumes and enjoy live performances of Kazakh music.
Dances, songs, folk games, and competitions created a warm and welcoming festive atmosphere, in which everyone felt like part of one big family.
Guests were treated to traditional Kazakh dishes – Nauryz-koje, bauyrsaq, pilaf, and various sweets – all prepared with heartfelt care and respect for national customs.
The Embassy expressed its gratitude to the organizers and emphasized the importance of such events, which contribute to the preservation of national identity abroad and the strengthening of friendship and mutual understanding between the peoples of Kazakhstan and Slovakia.
