Kazakhstan signs new cooperation deals with the UK

Agreements on agriculture and infrastructure signed at the 11th UK–Kazakhstan Intergovernmental Commission, DKnews.kz reports.

The 11th session of the UK–Kazakhstan Intergovernmental Commission (IGC) took place in London on 30 April, marking a significant milestone in bilateral relations. This session welcomed the largest Ministerial delegation from Kazakhstan to visit the United Kingdom since 2015.

The meeting was co-chaired by the UK Minister for Trade Policy and Economic Security, The Rt Hon Douglas Alexander MP, and Kazakhstan’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Alibek Kuantyrov. 

The IGC is an opportunity for Ministers to celebrate key successes in the UK-Kazakhstan trading relationship and to reaffirm cooperation in areas of mutual interest including market access and support for priority projects.

These agreements underscore the UK’s continued support for Kazakhstan’s development priorities and the strengthening of long-term partnerships with British industry leaders.

The inauguration of the UK-Kazakhstan Inter-Governmental Commission (IGC) took place at Foreign and Commonwealth Office in London on 30 October 2013.
