Kazakhstan and Finland Strengthen Joint Efforts Within the OSCE, DKnews.kz reports.
Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Finland Azamat Abdraimov met with OSCE Chairman-in-Office, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Finland Elina Valtonen.
During the conversation, Ambassador Abdraimov congratulated Finland on the responsible mission of the OSCE Chairmanship in 2025, which acquires special symbolic significance in the light of the upcoming 50th Anniversary of the signing of the Helsinki Final Act, a fundamental document that laid down the principles of international cooperation and security in the region.
The Kazakh diplomat expressed support for Finland’s priorities under its OSCE chairmanship, in particular on such pressing issues as climate change and cybersecurity, media freedom and media literacy, human rights protection, gender equality and inclusivity.
The parties also discussed current and topical issues on the bilateral agenda, as well as the schedule of events for 2025.
In turn, Minister Valtonen noted the importance of the practical implementation of the principles laid down in the Helsinki Final Act, emphasizing their continued relevance in modern conditions. She also pointed out the significant role of the final declaration of the Astana Summit in 2010 and other fundamental OSCE documents forming the foundations of comprehensive security, cooperation and respect for international law. Kazakhstan’s active and constructive position within the OSCE framework was highlighted, including its contribution to strengthening dialogue, promoting peace initiatives and developing regional stability.
