The Prospects for Expanding Kazakhstan’s Cooperation with Sweden for Sustainable Growth in the Mining Sector were Discussed in Stockholm, DKnews.kz reports.
A meeting took place at the headquarters of Epiroc Group between the Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Sweden, Olzhas Suleimenov, and the President and CEO of Epiroc, Helena Hedblom. During the meeting, the parties discussed the prospects for expanding cooperation, including the possibilities for localizing the company’s production in Kazakhstan.
The Ambassador highlighted Epiroc as one of Kazakhstan’s key strategic partners in the mining industry, emphasizing the company’s strong business reputation, commitment to innovation and sustainable development.
As a logical continuation of the successful partnership, Ambassador Suleimenov suggested considering the phased localization of certain production processes in Kazakhstan.
“We are ready to support the next steps toward possible localization of production and would be happy to welcome the company’s leadership for a visit to Kazakhstan for detailed discussions,” said the Kazakh diplomat.
In turn, CEO Hedblom, noted the growing importance of Kazakhstan as a key market with sustainable growth rates and expressed the company’s readiness to explore opportunities for further expansion in the country, including the localization of production processes.
She emphasized that Epiroc’s strategy is focused on building long-term partnerships based on the implementation of advanced technological solutions, sustainable development principles, and the digital transformation of the mining industry, which fully aligns with Kazakhstan’s priorities in modernizing its mining sector.
The important role of the company’s representative office in Astana and the three high-tech workshops in the country, which contribute to the development of the circular economy and increase local operational efficiency, was also noted.
In conclusion, both sides confirmed their mutual interest in developing the partnership and agreed to continue working on the key areas of cooperation.
