On behalf of the Minister of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Arman Shakkaliyev, the Ambassador delivered an official address to the participants.
In his message, the Minister highlighted the historical significance of the Metre Convention as the foundation of the global measurement system, the need to strengthen international cooperation in this field, and Kazakhstan’s contribution to the development of metrology both nationally and regionally.
In 2024, OIML sent a letter of appreciation to the Government of Kazakhstan for the close collaboration in proclaiming World Metrology Day, which became ‘the historic recognition and momentous achievement for metrology and metrologists around the world, enhancing the global profile of metrology on the global stage’. It also noted the successful Kazakh chairmanship in the Euro-Asian Cooperation of National Metrological Institutes in 2023–2024 and since 2021 in its working group on countries with emerging metrological systems.
