Kazakhstan’s low-cost carrier FlyArystan has provided financial support to the public association “Territory of Success” for the implementation of the “Umit” social project, DKnews.kz reports.
The initiative is aimed at providing comprehensive rehabilitation assistance to children with special needs who are without parental care.
“Supporting such initiatives is an integral part of our corporate responsibility. At the same time, it is fundamentally important for us that such assistance be not one‐off but systemic. We pay special attention to our Komek social program, which provides discounted air travel for people with first‐group disabilities and their companions. This is intended, in particular, to ensure their access to medical, educational, and social services in various regions of the country. In addition, as part of a joint project with the public foundation “Heart Center”, we support doctors by providing them flights to regions of Kazakhstan. We strive to build a long‐term strategy focused on real changes in people’s lives – expanding their opportunities, strengthening their self‐confidence, and offering support where it is most needed” Richard Ledger, President of FlyArystan JSC
The “Umit” project, which focuses on comprehensive rehabilitation for children with cerebral palsy, includes therapeutic physical training, osteopathy, massage therapy, speech therapy, and other specialized services. This initiative provides children with rehabilitative treatment, as well as opportunities for social adaptation, basic education, and integration into society.
“This project was launched in October 2024. Our collaboration with FlyArystan on the ‘Umit’ initiative began in March of this year, during the holy month of Ramadan – a time of compassion and giving. Thanks to the air company’s support, we were able to organize high-quality and comprehensive rehabilitation for a group of children diagnosed with cerebral palsy. This included not only medical and physical assistance, but also guidance in adaptation, communication skills development, and helping children build confidence. We firmly believe that collaboration with major partners like FlyArystan will give a strong impetus to the development of a truly inclusive, compassionate, and caring society” Rymgul Utepova, Head of the Territory of Success Public Association
It is worth noting that in 2024, FlyArystan had already supported “Territory of Success”, including sponsoring the purchase of specialized eye-tracking equipment. These innovative devices, which follow eye movements, allow people with severe speech and motor impairments to control digital services. For many children and adults with disabilities, eye trackers have become a “bridge” to full communication and independence.
FlyArystan is a Kazakhstan’s low-cost carrier that is a 100% subsidiary of Air Astana Group. It commenced operations in May 2019. In January 2025, FlyArystan switched to its own air operator certificate and began operating as a separate airline under the FS code. The airline operates an extensive route network using a modern fleet of Airbus A320 aircraft with bases in Almaty, Astana and Aktau. FlyArystan's route network includes domestic and international flights, as well as charter routes. FlyArystan has twice been recognised as the best low-cost airline in Central Asia and the CIS at the Skytrax World Airline Awards in 2023 and 2024.
The public association “Territory of Success” was founded in 2016 by two mothers of children with special needs to provide rehabilitation for children with disabilities. The organization implements inclusive and educational projects, offers psychological and consulting support for families, conducts trainings and seminars for specialists and parents, and organizes outreach events and charitable celebrations.
