In response to the growing tensions in the Middle East, Kazakhstan has issued an official statement urging all parties to resolve conflicts through diplomacy and dialogue. The statement comes in light of recent U.S. military actions against Iran, which Kazakhstan believes could have serious consequences for the broader Eurasian region, DKnews.kz reports.

As a Caspian littoral state with strong ties to Iran in various sectors, Kazakhstan has voiced its concern over the rapid escalation and the threat it poses to regional and global stability.

“We believe that all disagreements, including those related to nuclear issues, must be resolved through negotiations, based on the principles enshrined in the United Nations Charter” Тhe Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Kazakhstan is calling on the international community to urgently develop a comprehensive agreement aimed at preventing the proliferation of nuclear weapons. Such a deal, the statement emphasizes, should include robust security guarantees for countries that comply with the non-proliferation regime and remain under international oversight.

This call reflects Kazakhstan’s long-standing and principled position on nuclear disarmament. Since gaining independence, the country has consistently promoted peace and security by rejecting nuclear weapons and advocating for global cooperation on disarmament.

By leading through example—voluntarily giving up the world’s fourth-largest nuclear arsenal—Kazakhstan has shown that true security is built not on weapons, but on trust, transparency, and commitment to dialogue.
