Kazakh Opera Singer Aigerim Altynbek to Train at the World’s Most Prestigious Opera Institution – La Scala Theatre Academy, DKnews.kz reports.
Kazakh opera singer Aigerim Altynbek has been selected for a residency at the La Scala Theatre Academy, the most prestigious educational institution in the world of opera.
The initial selection round, which was based on video auditions, saw over 400 applicants. Only 12 top performers were chosen, with Aigerim Altynbek among them.
Aigerim is a laureate of numerous international vocal competitions. She previously won a prize at an opera competition in Italy dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Giacomo Puccini’s birth, took third place at the Nicolai Ghiaurov International Opera Singing Competition in Modena (Italy), and received the special Mirella Freni Prize, named after the renowned Italian soprano. She also claimed second place at the Renata Tebaldi International Vocal Competition, which attracted 470 participants from around the globe.
On June 25, Aigerim will perform as a debut soloist in a concert in Astana featuring world-renowned tenor José Carreras. The program will include celebrated opera arias and popular vocal duets.
On June 27–28, she is set to perform in Naples, Italy, at the anniversary concert of Andrea Bocelli, where she will sing in duet with the legendary tenor.
These accomplishments reflect not only Aigerim Altynbek’s dedication to her craft and ongoing professional growth, but also the state support for young, talented cultural figures in Kazakhstan.
