Kazakhstani technology company Gen2B, co-founded by venture investor Bakht Niyazov and tech entrepreneur Armen Atayan, has unveiled HyGPT — the first large language model (LLM) developed for the Eastern Armenian language. The project was carried out in collaboration with the National Center for Artificial Intelligence and Technologies of Armenia (NCCAIT), DKnews.kz reports.

According to the founders, HyGPT is built on the Gemma 2 architecture and was trained on 10 billion Armenian tokens. The model demonstrates high accuracy in tasks such as translation, question answering, mathematical reasoning, and instruction following. On several Armenian-language benchmarks, HyGPT-10b-it outperforms international models with far more parameters.

“Today, we have a clear understanding of how to generate revenue by integrating vertical AI bots into large and medium-sized companies, especially in countries with low-resource languages. We're ready to help businesses boost their sales using AI — this is part of the new economy that is only beginning to form.

However, our philosophy is that before entering the market for profit, it's crucial to create something truly useful for everyone. That’s why when we came to Kazakhstan, our first step was to build the Irbis large language model. Now, our focus is on Armenia, where we’ve developed a similar LLM.

Over time, these kinds of solutions will become commercially successful, but our priority remains making a real contribution to local IT communities. We will soon launch in Uzbekistan — a large enough market where a language model can bring significant value,”
— said Bakht Niyazov, co-founder of Gen2B.

HyGPT is already available for download on Hugging Face and can be integrated into educational projects, digital products, public services, and business tools.

This project marks Gen2B’s second major local success, following the release of Irbis-GPT at the end of 2024 — a Kazakh-language language model that has already been downloaded over 8,500 times. The next language Gen2B plans to support is Uzbek.

Although Kazakh, Armenian, and other small-language LLMs and AI bots are already being used by Gen2B clients in areas such as sales, support, and automation, these are just surface-level applications of a much deeper architecture. At the core of Gen2B’s solutions is an innovative platform that is itself an AI agent. It doesn’t merely support teams or clients — it autonomously analyzes, learns, and proposes management decisions based on data from all communication channels.

The company is building an entirely new kind of ecosystem, ready for the emergence of AI-First companies, where AI becomes a fully autonomous business unit manager.

The models are available completely free of charge to all users — both for personal and commercial use, in both Kazakh and Armenian languages. The only exception is for banks, telecommunications companies, insurance firms, and financial institutions, which are required to contact Gen2B directly for usage permission.
