Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Murat Nurtleu held a meeting with Almaz Alsenov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Harvest Group, DKnews.kz reports.
The parties discussed the implementation of an investment project in the agricultural sector aimed at the gradual transfer of 300 thousand hectares of pasture and fallow lands into irrigated agricultural lands using groundwater and modern water-saving technologies. The project covers the Zhambyl, Almaty, Zhetysu, Aktobe, Pavlodar, Kyzylorda, and East Kazakhstan regions, with a total investment of 500 million US dollars in the first phase.
Minister Nurtleu emphasized the importance of further promoting the project and expressed his readiness to provide government support. In particular, the parties discussed the signing of an Investment Agreement between the Government of Kazakhstan and Harvest Group.
The interlocutors also discussed the need to strengthen cooperation with local executive authorities, particularly at the district level.
Harvest Group is actively involved in the transformation of Kazakhstan’s agriculture by implementing advanced technologies and international practices in water conservation and irrigation.
