Kazakhstan's low-cost carrier FlyArystan successfully operated its inaugural flight on the new international route Atyrau – Tashkent – Atyrau today, DKnews.kz reports.
Flight FS7835 departed from Atyrau International Airport named after Khiuaz Dospanova and safely landed at Islam Karimov Tashkent International Airport, the capital hub of Uzbekistan. The arriving Airbus A320 was greeted with a traditional water salute – a symbolic aviation gesture marking the opening of a new route. A similar ceremony is planned in Atyrau to welcome flight FS7836 upon its return from Tashkent.
The inaugural flight ceremony was attended by the air company and airport management, as well as representatives of local authorities.
“The launch of this route marks an important milestone in expanding FlyArystan’s international network, as well as improving transport connectivity between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. In addition to the existing FlyArystan route from Astana to Tashkent, the new destination provides a direct air travel between western Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. This, in turn, will contribute to the development of business, cultural, and tourism ties between the two countries” Richard Ledger, President of FlyArystan
As part of the ceremony in the airport’s departure area, festive decorations, a photo zone, a ribbon-cutting ceremony, and gifts for passengers were organized.
“The opening of this new direct international route to Tashkent is a significant event for our airport and the region as a whole. We expect that this flight will contribute to increased passenger traffic, boost the airport’s transit appeal, and support further expansion of Atyrau’s flight geography” Vladimir Pakhomov, Commercial Director of JSC “ATMA – Atyrau Airport and Transport”
The Atyrau – Tashkent – Atyrau route is the first regular direct flight between these two cities. Flights will be operated: in July and August – on Thursdays and Sundays; in September and October – on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. The flight duration is approximately 2 hours and 20 minutes.
