A conference dedicated to the 180th anniversary of Abai Kunanbayuly was held in Tashkent

An international scientific and practical conference dedicated to the 180th anniversary of the great Kazakh poet, educator, and thinker Abai Qunanbaiuly was held in Tashkent, DKNews.kz reports.

The event was organized by the Writers’ Union of Uzbekistan, the Committee on Interethnic Relations and Relations with Compatriots Abroad of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and the Kazakh National Cultural Center of Uzbekistan.

The conference was attended by Yerzhan Mukash, Managing Director of the Department of Communications and International Cooperation of the Otandastar Foundation, who delivered a welcome speech emphasizing the importance of Abai’s legacy in strengthening cultural ties between the Kazakh and Uzbek peoples.

As part of the program, participants visited the Abai monument in Tashkent and laid flowers in tribute to the great thinker.
