Kazakhstan and Indonesia Discuss Criminal Law and Extradition Issues

Kazakhstan and Indonesia Agreed to Intensify Cooperation in the Legal Sphere, DKNews.kz reports.

The Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Indonesia Serzhan Abdykarimov held a meeting with the Coordinating Minister for Law, Human Rights, Immigration and Correction of Indonesia Yusril Ihza Mahendra, during which they discussed issues of cooperation between two countries.

Outlining the essence of legislative reforms in Kazakhstan and the dynamic development of bilateral relations across various fields, the Ambassador emphasized the importance of coordinating and concluding agreements on introduction of a mutual visa-free regime, mutual legal assistance in criminal matters, extradition and the transfer of convicted persons, in the best interests of two friendly nations.

The Coordinating Minister in his turn commended the high level and cordial relations between Indonesia and Kazakhstan. He highlighted the work conducted by the Coordinating Ministry in these areas within the framework of international cooperation with foreign states.

The two sides reached a mutual understanding on the matters discussed and agreed to continue their practical implementation.
