From 12 to 14 September, the Astana Ballet Theatre will be touring the city of Kostanay, DKNews.kz reports.
On the stage of the Umurzakov Kostanay Regional Philharmonic the company will present a unique programme combining world classics, folk choreography, and modern ballet.
“The tour programme features pieces from the theatre’s classical, modern and folk repertoire. The most important thing for us is to perform with dignity and win over the Kostanay audience, and we will do our very best to present our work at the highest level. We hope that the work of our artists and the entire creative theatre team will remain in the hearts of local viewers for a long time,” said Tair Karatayev, director of the Astana Ballet Theatre.
On 12 September, the capital theatre will present Carmen Suite, a one-act ballet masterpiece choreographed by Alberto Alonso and based on Georges Bizet’s opera Carmen. The production features original orchestration by Rodion Shchedrin. This ballet is a unique gem from the 20th century. It is full of life, with bright colours, music and an interesting set of dance moves. It was inspired by the unique personality of Maya Plisetskaya, who had always dreamed of performing the part of Carmen since she started dancing.
The second part is where the audience will enjoy the performance of The Arcana of Fate staged by Mukaram Avakhri to the music of the famous Kazakhstani composer Karina Abdullina. The symphony orchestra, conducted by the theatre’s chief conductor Arman Urazgaliyev, will accompany the evening.
On 14 September, the signature performance of our theatre, the divertissement entitled The Heritage of the Great Steppe, directed by Honoured Figure of Kazakhstan Aigul Tati, will be performed on the Philharmonic Hall stage.
The national divertissement The Heritage of the Great Steppe is a pearl necklace, strung with colourful choreographic miniatures of different stylistic orientations. All are united by one theme – amazing stories that took place in the expanses of the Great Steppe. This concert programme showcases the latest achievements in Kazakhstani choreographic art. It features original and unusual combinations of ethnographic elements and dance traditions, as well as modern choreographic solutions. These are accompanied by visual and artistic effects, as well as colourful costumes.
“We are confident that art to which the creative team has devoted its soul will always be in demand. It is extremely important and meaningful for our theatre to feel the warmth of our audience’s caring and cordial support, and their keen interest in our work, throughout Kazakhstan,” concluded Nurlan Kanetov, the Artistic Director of the Astana Ballet Theatre.
The event will be held with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
