The event was joined by representatives of the expert and scientific community, the media and the Union of Journalists of Bulgaria.
Ambassador of Kazakhstan Viktor Temirbayev presented to the participants with the key messages of the Address, in which the Government was tasked with the strategic goal of implementing a large-scale digital transformation and building a fully digital state within the next three years.
The Kazakh diplomat also emphasized the need to restructure the investment system in order to attract foreign capital to priority sectors of the national economy, as well as to introduce advanced technologies in the development of agriculture, infrastructure, and logistics. Special attention was given to the Head of State’s proposal to transition to a unicameral Parliament. In this regard, the submission of this issue to a nationwide discussion (referendum) in 2027 confirms Kazakhstan’s commitment to strengthening democratic practices through the direct participation of citizens in determining the country’s future.
In addition, V. Temirbayev briefed on the main points of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s address at the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly, including his assessment of the global situation and proposals for UN reform. In particular, he noted initiatives to establish a new coalition of states to develop concrete proposals, the central focus of which will be the reform of the Security Council with the introduction of rotational representation of leading countries in Asia, Africa, and Latin America, as well as strengthening the role of responsible “middle powers” including Kazakhstan and Bulgaria.
The participants highly appreciated the political and socio-economic reforms taking place in Kazakhstan, and noted the relevance of the issues raised in the President's Address. Bulgarian experts expressed confidence that the implementation of the tasks set by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev will give a new impetus to the sustainable and dynamic development of Kazakhstan and increase its competitiveness in the international arena in the long term. The timeliness of the Head of State’s initiatives, presented from the high podium of the UN, as well as his pragmatic and constructive approach to the global agenda, was also highlighted.
