President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev outlines Kazakhstan’s digital development strategy at Digital Bridge 2025, DKNews.kz reports.
Digital Bridge as a global platform
President Tokayev noted that over the years the forum has become one of the key platforms for discussing the future of the digital economy:
“Since its inception, more than 67,000 people, over 500 IT companies, and delegations from 100 countries have taken part in the Forum. Kazakhstan, as the main digital hub of the Eurasian space, will continue this vital work in the future”
A special guest of the forum was Hungarian President Tamás Sulyok, whose visit Tokayev described as an important contribution to strengthening international cooperation in the field of digital technologies.
Artificial intelligence in focus
Tokayev stressed that humanity has entered the era of artificial intelligence:
“We are witnessing how this revolutionary technology is radically transforming politics, the economy, and the daily lives of billions of people”
According to him, global investments in AI have already exceeded $1 trillion, and within the next decade the technology’s contribution to the world economy could reach $7 trillion.
He emphasized:
“Artificial intelligence must be used exclusively for peaceful purposes. Its application in the military sphere, cyberattacks, or projects threatening international stability is unacceptable”
New initiatives of Kazakhstan
Key national projects presented at the forum include:
- establishment of the first research university in the field of artificial intelligence
- opening of the International Center for Artificial Intelligence Alem.ai, which Tokayev called a “factory of ideas and innovations”
- launch of the second supercomputer cluster
- creation of a unified AI ecosystem under the Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development
Tokayev stated:
“Our strategic goal is to turn Kazakhstan into a fully digital state within three years”
Digital state and the new code
The President emphasized that Kazakhstan has adopted its first law on artificial intelligence and is developing a Digital Code that will serve as the foundation for digitalization in the economy, healthcare, education, and public administration.
“Every new public service must be created in digital format from the start. Data that has once been provided should not be requested again”
The future of the forum and global challenges
Tokayev proposed renaming the forum to AI Bridge starting next year to reflect its new focus:
“The new focus of the Forum will give an additional boost to international cooperation and ensure that artificial intelligence serves the progress of all humanity”
He highlighted the importance of the human dimension of digitalization:
“Artificial intelligence can imitate intelligence but cannot feel. No matter how advanced it becomes, human thinking must always be ahead”
Thus, Kazakhstan has set an ambitious goal — to create a digital state in the shortest possible time, based on artificial intelligence, ethics, and international cooperation.
