On September 23, Almaty turned into a true bridge of friendship between Kazakhstan and China. The Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China hosted a grand reception marking the 76th anniversary of the founding of the PRC, bringing together nearly 600 guests — diplomats, government officials, business leaders, academics, media representatives, and students, DKNews.kz reports.

Among the distinguished guests were Zh.Zh. Abdrashov, head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan’s representative office in Almaty, Almaty Region akim M.E. Sultangaziev, deputy mayor of Almaty O.M. Smagulov, as well as representatives of consular missions and international organizations.

A Message Filled with Meaning

Opening the evening, Jiang Wei, Consul General of China in Almaty, reflected on the remarkable path China has taken over the past 76 years. She emphasized the country’s outstanding achievements under the leadership of the Communist Party of China in the economy, science, and social development.

She placed particular focus on China’s steady economic growth, the promotion of the “green economy” for sustainable development, and the rise of “smart manufacturing,” which is making daily life more convenient, safer, and of higher quality.

“The well-being of the people continues to grow, and the sense of confidence in the future is becoming increasingly tangible,” she noted.

Jiang Wei also reminded guests that, ahead of the 80th anniversary of the Victory in World War II, President Xi Jinping has put forward an initiative for global governance. According to her, China is ready to work with all countries, including Kazakhstan, to build a community with a shared future for mankind and to contribute to global peace and stability.

A Glimpse Into the Future of Technology

One of the highlights of the evening was the exhibition titled “Technology Improves Life.” Jiang Wei herself demonstrated AR glasses before showcasing the latest innovations from leading Chinese brands — including a humanoid robot, a robot dog, a courier robot, a cleaning robot, and other intelligent devices.

Guests had the chance to witness first-hand how cutting-edge Chinese technologies are already being applied in everyday life.

An Evening of Friendship and Inspiration

The festive atmosphere was enriched with cultural elements from both nations. The sounds of the dombra filled the hall, consulate diplomats performed Kazakh songs, and schoolchildren delivered moving speeches in Chinese, earning a warm round of applause.

Guests also enjoyed traditional Chinese cuisine, mooncakes, drinks, and products from well-known Chinese brands.

The evening concluded with heartfelt wishes for lasting friendship and cooperation between Kazakhstan and China.

Looking Toward the Future

The reception in Almaty was more than a celebration — it showcased how relations between Kazakhstan and China are evolving on the foundation of trust, respect, and a shared desire for prosperity.

Fittingly, the evening was not only about reflecting on the past, but also about looking ahead — with technology standing at the very center, uniting people and shaping a better life for tomorrow.
