Greece Interested in Strengthening Agricultural Cooperation with Kazakhstan, DKNews.kz reports.

Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Greece, Timur Sultangozhin, participated in the International “Thessaly AgriBusiness Forum-2025,” which brought together over 300 representatives of Greek business associations, government bodies, enterprises, as well as agricultural producers and cooperatives.

In his remarks, Ambassador Sultangozhin emphasized that agriculture is a strategically important sector of Kazakhstan’s economy. He noted that the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has set the task of transforming the agro-sector into one of the drivers of economic growth through the application of technological, scientific, and innovative solutions, process automation, and the use of new technologies, including artificial intelligence.

Kazakhstan, with some of the world’s largest arable lands and pastures, possesses significant potential not only in raw material production but also in the development of processing industries within the country, with access to Eurasian Economic Union and neighboring markets.

The Kazakh Ambassador invited Greek companies to establish joint ventures and to consider localization of production in Kazakhstan, making use of Greek technologies and expertise for mutually beneficial cooperation.

Special attention was given to the prospects for increasing Kazakhstan’s exports of agricultural products such as cereals and wheat, as well as organic products. The importance of further improving logistics routes and infrastructure, including within the framework of the Middle Corridor, was underlined as a means to significantly enhance trade links between Kazakhstan, Greece, and other countries.

In his remarks, the Governor of Thessaly, Demetrios Kouretas, stressed that Thessaly, as the “food basket of Greece” has a rich agricultural heritage and great potential for cooperation with Kazakhstan, especially in the areas of sustainable development and modernization of the agro-industrial sector.

The forum also featured the presentation of Kazakhstan’s international branding campaign “Born Bold” aimed at highlighting the country’s openness to partnerships and new opportunities for foreign investors.
