FlyArystan is expanding its collaboration with the Heart Center Foundation as part of educational initiatives aimed at sharing experience, developing professional competencies of doctors in the regions, and supporting patients with congenital heart defects.

The latest training session within the “Patient School” project took place today in Almaty with the participation of specialists from the UMC (University Medical Center) Heart Center, DKNews.kz reports.

FlyArystan arranged flights for pediatric cardiologists and cardiac surgeons from Astana, facilitating a series of lectures and practical workshops for doctors and parents of children with congenital heart defects. For parents, this was a unique opportunity to meet leading surgeons and receive personal consultations.

"Our partnership with the Heart Center Foundation, which began in autumn 2024, has become an important part of our long-term social strategy. We view this collaboration not as a one-time initiative, but as a sustainable direction capable of making a real impact on the development of Kazakhstan’s healthcare system. Over the past year, FlyArystan has supported training sessions for doctors in Kostanay, Kyzylorda, Uralsk, and Aktau, helping our partners create a platform for sharing experience and implementing modern methods of cardiovascular treatment. As an airline connecting regions and people, we strive to contribute to societal development and move forward together" Richard Ledger, President of JSC FlyArystan

During the practical workshop, UMC Heart Center specialists examined children with heart rhythm disorders and severe congenital heart defects. Following the examinations, they provided conclusions and discussed with participants the challenges of interpreting results. In their presentations, pediatric cardiologist Aikerim Zhanatkyzy spoke about the importance of prenatal screenings, while Tatiana Ivanova-Razumova discussed the specifics of parental care for children with congenital heart defects.

"The results of the 'Patient School' in Aktau demonstrated how important and in-demand such educational initiatives are – both among parents and the medical community. These meetings help better understand the specifics of the disease and seek timely medical assistance. Our role is to act as a bridge between doctors and society, making crucial medical information accessible. We are committed to continuing projects in this area and see FlyArystan as a reliable partner, through whom educational initiatives become more accessible for doctors and patients across different regions of Kazakhstan" Murat Zauyrov, Director of Heart Center Foundation

In October 2025, the ESG Awards ceremony took place, recognizing the contribution of Air Astana Group partners toward achieving strategic goals in ecology, social responsibility, and corporate governance. This year, 11 companies were recognized, including the Heart Center Foundation, awarded for its contribution to sustainable development of regional healthcare in Kazakhstan.
